Ashley's Birthday

I cannot believe that Miss Ashley is now 5 years old! We celebrated her birthday in September with a special lunch--she wanted Tacos, and a Princess birthday cake. It was lots of fun! I never knew that Grandkids grow up so darn fast!!

Penny's Baptisim

Our family gathered together to support Andy, Sarah, Theo and Penny for Penny's baptism the next day. Uncle Daniel, Aunt Jenn, Uncle Jim, Aunt Michelle, Cousin Deryck, Cousin Ashley, Grandpa Lewis, Grandma Lewis--all the usual suspects!! It was a fun time and a beautiful ceremony.
Pastor Doug always does such a good job! He loves the children, and it is evident in all he says and does.
Isn't it wonderful how we are all joined together in God's family? Forever, I like that word!
Mama talks with her hands,
and daddy read the scriptures.
Such a pretty girl!

Mr.T & Birthday #2

So what type of theme do you have for number 2? Kids on Bikes!! Theo had a great party with lots of his little friends in attendance. Everyone had on their bike helmet, so it made for some really cute pictures. Theo got to have all the cake and ice cream he could hold (which was quite a lot!) and all his friends loved being outside in the sunshine with bikes, water, fun and family. Aunt Jenn was there from New Mexico and that just added to our fun. Enjoy the pictures--they speak for themselves!!

Now he has his own band, thanks to Grandma Lew & Grandpa Lew, and Uncle Daniel. Drums? You got it!!

The sand and water table from Aunt Nene was a real hit--Rory tried it out as a pool, and then everyone had to try it.

It was a hot day, so the frog pool was great too.

The best looking Grandkids around!!

Penny and Aunt Jenn.

Each time I see these pictures, it reminds me of how time flies! Why does it seem to go so much faster as I age? Can't they all still be tiny? I guess we must all grow older--just not too fast....tic, tic, tic.........

Zoo Review

Lots of fine days at the Zoo.

Looking in on Timon!

Baby birds?

Learning about the tawny frogmouth.
Several trips were made this summer to Point Defiance Zoo. It is one of my favorite places to visit. They have been doing a lot of remodeling the last couple years, and most of the new exibits are now open. Mark and I went a couple of times with my friend Jean and her granddaughters. There was a fun trip with Deryck and Ashley, and when Jenn was here, Mark, Sherm and I met her and Sarah and the kids at the zoo for an afternoon of fun. I love the open space, all the sunshine, and what's not to like about a ride on the carousel? It was Theo's first, and he was not impressed!
Watching the Walrus was fasinating.
Our visit also included a trip to the Wildlife Theater, it is always a favorite and the eagle is always so photogenic.
Sliding is always fun!

Deryck is how old????

This was the summer of a lot of milestones in our family. Grandchild number two had a big one of his own. Deryck turned 10 on August 11th. Now he is into the double digits, and you know what that means?
Teen Years Ahead!!
He had another birthday spent camping. This year in Yakima. Papa and I headed over there and joined in the fun. Seems like just yesterday he and Ashley were as little as Theo and Penny, where has all the time gone???
