Kites!

Theo and Papa spent one day flying our dragon kite. They had a grand time! As you can see in most of the pictures Theo was alway in his red boots. They came in very handy for all our beach walks. They sure do hold a lot of water!

Men Waiting

We also went to the farmer's market in Ferndale. We girls shopped, the guys waited--patiently?

DS Contest

So one night--way to late for us all to be up, we sat around and linked up our DS games. It's amazing how much time you can waste with a video game! It is a fun way to bond. I do wonder how Andy always manages to win!

More Birch Bay

We spent a lot of time down at the beach. The tide pools were great for exploring, and the sunsets were so beautiful. It's fun to get away with family and not really have a big "plan". We had lots of special moments--memories that will last for a very, very long time.
Theo is holding a tiny crab. Brave boy!

How I spent my summer vacation-2008

My Sister, Genine and her husband, Randy came to visit us at the start of June. We spent a week in Birch Bay where we rented a cabin just off the beach. It was a bit cold and rainy, but we had lots of fun. Sarah and the kids spent most of the week with us; Jim, Michelle, Deryck and Ashley came up for the weekend, and Andy came up most days after school. The very first morning there, we saw this eagle.

Relay for Life-Grandkids too!

This weekend was our annual Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. It was so fun, as usual, and the weather was beautiful! I had added fun, Deryck and Ashley came and spent the night with me. They slept in their tent--sort of--and really had fun joining in with all the walkers who attended. At one time, we had over 20 people in our campsite! It was a wonderful turn out, and thanks to all of you who supported me this year. I raised over $1000 with your help, and our team was the top fundraiser--over $10,000!! It was a successful relay and I can't wait to start working on next years. Thanks again!

Sarah & The Kids

Andy went camping with his school class, so Sarah and the kids came down for a couple of days. It is always fun to have the grandkids stop in!
Theo is having his usual 3 course breakfast! How does he hold so much food? Penny is just being cute!
Later that day, Theo decided he wanted to take a drive in Papa's truck. As soon as Sherm put him in the front seat, Theo leaned over and locked the doors! I think he didn't want to be bothered by Papa!

Mariner's Madness

So, on Memorial Day we went to the Mariners' game against the Red Sox. We bought our tickets on Opening day, so we didn't realize that we were seated in the middle of the official RED SOX SECTION!! Talk about a big surprise! Our blue shirts didn't exactally show up very well within the red sea! We had fun, but the Mariners lost. Oh well, you can't win them all? Did I mention, we were right behind Manny!

Where has the Time Gone!?

I know, it's been a long time since I updated my blog. I'm not sure how so much time has gotten past me, but I do know that it has been a wonderful summer! I'll try to get all caught up, but it may take a couple of days and several blogs--how in the world did life get so busy crazy?
